About St Francis United
Sport for Youth Project is a Registered Non-Profit Company that was founded in St Francis Bay in 2019 by Matt Davis and Masixole Qekema. This is a community upliftment project that provides a safe environment for the youth of Sea Vista Township and surrounding communities.
Our main focus at the moment is football.
In August 2019 we started coaching 10 kids voluntarily, this slowly grew and now we have over 100 kids in the program, 5 coaches and great support from various local businesses. Currently we have five teams from the following age groups; U/11, U/13, U/15, U/17 and then a Senior team. All our teams are registered to compete in the local leagues and tournaments.
SFBUFC is established as a Section 18A organization, enabling all donations to be eligible for tax deductions.
Additionally, we are a registered NPO, NPC Number – 269-570 PBO Number – 930075273, making us the ideal selection for corporations seeking to optimize their BB-BEE scorecard. To receive further details, get in touch!
VISION
Through Football training we want to create opportunities for talented players, produce role models and leaders in our community. As a football team we also strive for success on and off the field.
MISSION
Our aim is to create a safe environment where we can inspire and create opportunities for enjoyment of play, advancing gifted players and training of sport management skills for coaches. Keep the youth off the streets teaching them discipline, respect and life skills through sport.
PURPOSE
As previous football players in the community, we realised that there is a need for a sporting program to benefit the kids of St Francis Bay – to keep them active and away from all the social problems on the streets.
This was the main reason for starting the project
St Francis Bay United United alongside funders Rotary St Francis and Billy’s Beach helped organise 2 kits and football equipment for all Sea Vista football teams.
