𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝟏𝟐 Supports local football project Ward 12 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝟏𝟐 Supports local football project Ward 12 Councillor, Lorraine Maree, donated brand-new soccer training equipment to St Francis Bay United. This initiative, made possible through Kouga Local Municipality’s Ward Development Fund for the 2025/2026 financial year, aims to support local sports development and encourage youth participation in the community. Our midfield maestro Lingomso Somdyala also taking the player of the tournament award . Congratulations to all the boys and coaches. Our Biggest achievement to Date !! On the 14th o Our Biggest achievement to Date !! On the 14th of September we sent 7 boys from our U/12 and U/14 youth development team to attend Ubuntu Academy trials in Port Elizabeth. This was a great opportunity as Ubuntu is rated as one the best academies in 🇿🇦 . After a long tough day with more than 300 kids in attendance, one of our boys , Sinako Sobele was selected and now gets the chance to go for a further week assessment at the Ubuntu Academy in Cape Town . This past Saturday, Sinako travelled to Cape Town on the bus with his mother and our head of youth development Coach Viera , he is currently in Cape Town at Ubuntu doing his assessment, we holding thumbs for him because if he makes it through he will join the academy for the 2026 year , accommodation and school all included. Boys have been working hard in the pre- season and we have played some good competitive games outside of Kouga . Results so far from the past couple weeks : 1. It’s a 8 week program that will be run at the sea vista community hall every Thursday afternoon. The boys learned a lot and agreed that we can all learn from how the Khoi San live their lives. The presentation was held at the spar boardroom in the village centre. St Francis Bay taking 2nd place in the annual Koug St Francis Bay taking 2nd place in the annual Kouga Mayors cup tournament . Thanks to our supports who came out in numbers and supported us all the way through, unfortunately we lost to Wits FC in the final, but we proud to represent St Francis Bay !! We had a great tournament where we mixed our 1st and 2nd team together to form a strong unified squad to give some of the younger boys chance to play with the more experienced boys. The question was asked how do we recycle a spar plastic packet ? The boys got into groups and came up with the following ideas: 1. Re-use packets for shopping, dont throw them away. 2. Can be used to collect rubbish in your community or on the beach . 3. Used as a plastic fishing bag. 4. Street soccer ball 5. Interesting one - bow tie Our aim was to create awareness about the environment on this day and give thanks to all the good that it brings us.
