News just in from May/June
- SAB Regional League Team The boys have started preparing for their pre-season training. The league will start in September , we have brought in a new Coach to help us compete in this more competitive league. Coach Vuyo Chancey from Addo in the eastern cape.
- Kouga First Division. Our Kouga First division team, boys aged between 15-18, are sitting in 2nd position on the Log with about 3 games to go. We are hoping to place 2nd so we can get promoted to the Kouga Premier League – follow us on instagram @sfb_football_project
- Life Skills – We held our facilitator training course in June over the 9th and 10th.Paul Jones came down from Cape Town to run us through the Breakthrough Module that we will be using. It was a two day course where we had 14 volunteers present all eager to take part. We are now working towards getting the life skills project started which is the next step. Big Thanks to Superspar for helping us with the Catering!!
- Khanyisa on his way to Denmark – One of our young stars and up and coming talents is on his way to Denmark to compete in the Dana Cup Youth Tournament. I have attached another document with this mail which has more info on his trip . If anyone is willing to contribute we still short R4000 on the total amount of R45k.
- Fundraiser. Another Great two Successful StorySlam nights at the Brewery for May and June bringing in a total of R9800.00. We are busy planning a Big Golf Day Fundraiser for Saturday August 17th.
- Tournament. We hosted a rad 5-a-side tournament in Collaboration with score energy drink . The Day was a huge success . Our Senior Team has also Won two Tournaments over the last two months , One was in Humansdorp and the other here in Sea Vista with Rotary Club kindly sponsoring Trophies and Medals for the winning teams.
- Community – Our U15 and U/13 boys took part in Kromme Enviro Trust Beach Clean up which took place on Saturday 17 June
Next Month’s Goals
Secure a Piece of Land for our Community Sporting Facility
Our U/13 and U/15 will be competing in a tournament on July 15th.
