Nov – Jan News 24/25

The Sport For Youth Project wishes everyone a Happy New Year and all the best for 2025. We hope you all  had a great holiday and back in the swing of things.

We decided to put these 3 months together as we closed for December and a little bit of January for the holidays.

Let’s get into some news and updates!

Kouga Regional League Team

League starts

We finished the year with our Hollywood Bets Regional League team winning their two last games before the league came to end due to December holidays. The league has started up again with us having played 3 games in January, losing two and winning one.

Kouga Premier League

The Premier League team also ended their year with some good results, the boys are definitely getting some momentum, playing good football and winning some games. The Premier League serves as a platform whereby we can get boys ready to play for our 1st team. This season we promoted two boys to come up and play for our senior team.

Pam Golding U/15 Team

Our U/15 boys have been competing well in their first season ever. Much excitement is clear to see as the boys have been training hard and travelling to matches throughout Kouga.

Village SuperSpar Clean Up Project

We held our first Spar Clean up from mid November whereby we had a group of 9-11 year olds clean up at the entrance of St Francis Bay.

Our second Spar initiative was held last Saturday on the 1st of February. We did a nice clean up of our new training ground at the Sea Vista sports facility which was then followed up with an educational talk and fun exercise from the Krom Enviro Trust. The program is sponsored by Spar and after the clean up session, each kid gets something to eat and a cool drink.

Our aim for the project is to educate the kids about the environment which will lead to them looking after their own environment in the future.

Sea Vista Sports Field

The Sport For Youth Project NPC has partnered up with the Kouga Municipality to help improve and maintain the Sea Vista sports field. Through this partnership we will maintain and improve the facility so that the community will have further access to their sport facility.

We have put together a Phase 1 plan which has already kicked into gear;
