Kouga Premier League

League Starts

The Premier league Team is also back in action with the start of their league , off to a bit of a shaky start but we have pulled it back by getting two good wins in the last two games. Hopefully a change in momentum and we can get a decent run of victories to start moving up the log. The boys look motivated now and ready to start focusing on the league .

Pam Golding U/15 Team

Richard Arderne from Pam Golding, a continuous supporter of our project from day one kindly sponsored our U/15 team with a brand new kit. The boys are so excited to be competing for the first time in the Kouga 1st Division League . They have been training hard and are ready to start. Thanks Richard

ClientCare Kit Sponsorship

New kit sponsor for our Hollywood Bets Regional league team, Dirk Groenewald from ClientCare has kindly sponsored a home and away kit for our boys this season. Big thanks to Dirk we really appreciate the support.

Protein Shakes and Porridge

Manfred Adrio from My Wellness SA who recently bought a house in St Francis Bay was keen to get involved in a community project. After a brief chat and driving past watching the boys train he was keen to help the boys out with some nutritional products. Last week we did the handover of 40kg of protein shake powder and porridge. This will help the boys get the protein required before and after training sessions and matches. Thanks Manfred

Brewery Fundraiser

We will be hosting a score prediction fundraiser for the three upcoming Springbok rugby games at the brewery. R20 gets you a score prediction and you walk away with a cool prize from the brewery. Dyl Anderson took home a case of beers last month when he predicted to score correctly against Argentina.

Career Guidance

Masinyusane – meaning to help each other rise

Five of our  St Francis Bay United Soccer Club members – were mentored by Dr Darryl Smith.  Working with Dr D, as they like to call him, each of them constructed a personal career narrative for their life.

The course consisted of eight sessions over two months.  This included a formal career assessment known as “True Colours”, which enabled them to identify their dominant personality colours. Then followed self-assessments of their strengths and weaknesses, exercises on values, and career and study information.

“During the programme, they moved from good friends to brothers committed to supporting each other on their challenging career journeys”, said Darryl.

After receiving their certificates at a ceremony in the community hall from Dr Toni Gennrich, the guys shared what the course meant to them.  For some, it was a confirmation and strengthening of the career path they are already pursuing, for one of them, it was a complete about-turn and a re-focusing on greater strengths.

“We found out what we’re good at.”

“I can train – I have a talent for working at our local gym.”

“I understand myself better and can prepare for what’s coming.”

“I can see myself somewhere”, one of them told me.  I like to think he speaks for all of them.

Each guy’s “somewhere” is his own somewhere in the hospitality industry, architecture, carpentry, or specialised crafts in the building industry.

Thanks Darryl for the work you have put in for these boys .
